Following some time in Johannesburg, Anna came back to live in Aberdeen and worked for Stuart Spence at The Marcliffe, where she learnt from him the values of high standards of service.

As a late teen, Anna was an assistant manager for Michelin starred Galton Blackiston at Morston Hall and then later moved into London where she worked for Michelin starred David Thompson at Nahm (in The Halkin Hotel Belgravia) and then at The Covent Garden Hotel (a part of the famous Firmdale boutique hotel group).

After spending many years in London, the desire to learn another language took Anna to Spain so she booked a ticket and moved to the Costa del Sol where she stayed for two years and worked at Tikitano restaurant and Lonestar Brasserie, close to Estepona and Puerto Banus, respectively.

London called her back as The Soho Hotel (also part of Firmdale Hotels) was looking for a Restaurant Manager and they wanted her back.

With the credit crunch, Anna decided to move back home to Aberdeen to settle and have a family. She worked at The Olive Tree as General Manager and then at Number 1 Bar/Grill until, at the end of 2011, she moved into an office environment to focus her time on becoming a mother.

From the beginning of 2012 Anna studied accounting and worked in various roles in administration, accounting, and business management support in hospitality, oil & gas, and financial services. Following a challenging lockdown, she chose to launch AJ Hospitality Solutions, to provide the hospitality industry with an innovative 360 degree service. Her years of excellent experience has put her in the perfect position to offer such a wide range of support to owners of restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs, and any other type of hospitality business.
